Simmons was born in Gastonia, North Carolina where he was brought up in the house of the Lord. His Father was the minister of music at their home church for over 20 plus years. His mother, along with other family members made sure that they attended church regularly .Travis was born again at the age of eleven. He had gone to revival with his grandmother one evening which changed his life. He confessed his sins and asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior. Travis backslid for a season but thank the Lord that he did not give up on him. Travis rededicated his life and has been serving the Lord since.
